A Perfect Child
Written by Thena Smith

My brother got a spanking
Mommy tanned his little hide
For he took away my bike
And wouldn't let me ride.

Mommy didn't see him
But I saw him pick a flower
From the neighbors garden
Within the very hour.

I thought that I should tell her
'Cause she really needs to know
In case the neighbors wonder
Why their garden doesn't grow.

Sister got a scolding
Cause she was very bad
She took away my candy bar
And it was the only one I had.

Daddy didn't know it
So I told him what I knew
That sister told a lie today
And said that it was true!

I try to help my parents out
And be a model kid
If it were not for me
They wouldn't know what the others did!

I was very good today
And not a bit of trouble
When the other kids were wild
Oh what stress it is
To be a perfect child!
