For Mothers of Sons

There is a special bond
Between a son and his mother
It has a tenderness and uniqueness
Unlike any other.

From the time he is a baby
Held in those arms so loving
He knows this love is special
Sent from the Lord above him.

As a toddler and youngster he knows
That his mom is special and tries
Always to be there to console him
When she hears his cries.

A teenager's love is so special
And even though it remains unspoken
There are special cords of love
That never can be broken.

But when he suddenly becomes a man
The emotions in his heart and soul
Respond as if on remote control
And he once again feels free to express
His love and warmth and tenderness.

The bond that has been dormant
For some of those teenage years
Brings joy to his mother's heart
And can reduce her to happy tears.

And when he chooses a wife to wed
He treats her with gentleness he learned from
The one who loved him like no other
His wonderful, loving and adored mother!
